Osteoid Osteomas of the Talus: A Case Report of Four Patients

Osteoid osteomas are benign bone tumors that commonly found in the cortical segments of long but can occasionally occur talus foot. They typically present younger males and characterized by lesions with a vascularized nidus surrounded sclerotic bone. Plain radiographs often miss diagnosis, requiring further imaging computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance (MRI). Lesions lead to significant inflammatory response resulting an impaired range motion nocturnal pain. Conservative management non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications walking boot is considered first-line therapy, failure respond being indication for surgical intervention. Surgical treatment traditionally consisted en bloc resection has been replaced CT-guided radio-frequency ablation (RFA) when conservative failed. Four cases osteoid osteoma presented which all went on RFA after The patients’ non-specific symptomatology unremarkable findings plain led evaluation using MRI CT, aided diagnosis.
